Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

 

Rick is Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer for Centuri Group, Inc. He has oversight for all of Centuri’s market segments – U.S. gas operations, Canada operations, and electric operations.

In this position, Rick is responsible for furthering the One Team concept among operational leadership, driving consistency, and optimizing efficiencies, all of which are critical components in ensuring a scalable structure is built to support Centuri’s growth, diversification, and sustainability initiatives.

Rick has over 34 years of industry experience. He was promoted to his current position with Centuri in 2018. Prior to becoming COO at Centuri, Rick held the position of President for NPL Canada Ltd., with responsibilities including oversight of Centuri’s Canadian operating companies NPL Canada and W.S. Nicholls. Prior to joining NPL Canada (renamed from Link-Line Contractors) in 2002 as President and COO, Rick held a wide range of roles of increasing responsibility at Aecon Utilities, a global construction firm providing services to a wide array of industries, beginning in 1984. Blending operations and management experience, his career with Aecon spanned the roles of Foreman, Superintendent, Manager, General Manager of the Northern Division, Director of Utility Operations, Process Improvement Team, and Vice President of Operations. In 1997, Rick was promoted to Executive Vice President of Operations.

Rick is involved with several industry associations. He is a member of the Gas Advisory Council of Ontario’s Technical Standards & Safety Authority, and he was a Director of the Ontario Energy Association. He is also a Trustee of the Operating Engineers Training Institute of Ontario, and a Trustee of the Laborers Local 183 Benefit Fund, the largest Laborers Local Union in North America. Additionally, Rick served as a Director and President of the Utility Contractors’ Association of Ontario, a Director of the Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada, and a member of the Labour Committees of both of those associations.
